Backyard Brains Travel Scholarship

To support trainees attending ACL&M, we offer $500 travel scholarships to help graduate student and post docs from outside of Texas to defray travel costs and lodging. Several scholarships are offered, with a portion dedicated to underrepresented attendees.

To apply for a scholarship the attendee must submit a poster abstract as well as a brief written statement outlining their research and the ways in which attending the meeting will be of benefit to them. Please email the abstract and written statement to the conference coordinator, Susan Cushman, (  In your email please include your position (graduate student or postdoc) and indicate if you are to be considered for the minority scholarships.

Scholarship applications must be received by March 1st, 2019 and awardees will be notified by March 8th.

 The conference steering committee will be responsible for evaluating and awarding the scholarships.
