Kevin Bieri receives a Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA award

Kevin Bieri, MD/PhD student in the Colgin Lab, received a Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA award from NIMH for his project titled “Information Routing in the Hippocampus via Gamma Oscillations”.  This project will use electrophysiological recordings in freely behaving rats to determine the functional roles of two distinct variants of hippocampal gamma oscillations. This work will help to understand how information is selectively routed during the processes of memory encoding and memory retrieval.
