Conference registration is now open! Visit the following website to register: MDRS Registration. After registering, you will be forwarded to a University of Texas website for paying the conference fee. You can also pay the conference fee at a later time here: MDRS Conference Fee Payment. You can also pay for the Banquet fee separately: MDRS Banquet Fee Payment. NOTE: The MDRS Banquet is for MDRS members and invited speakers only.

Conference Schedule

The preliminary conference schedule with the times, titles, and presenters for all talks and symposia is now available to download: MDRS 2014 Program.

Talks and Symposia

Two changes to recent practice were decided at last year’s business meeting. First, the distinction between ‘open paper’ and ‘data-blitz’ presentations has been abolished: all presentations other than those in symposia are now in the same format (5 min talk + 5 min discussion). Second, the prior recommendation that symposia should comprise both female and male presenters is now a rule.

Laird Cermak Travel Awards

Congratulations to Rosanna Olsen and Vishnu Murty, winners of the MDRS 2014 Laird Cermak Travel Awards. The Laird Cermak Travel Awards provide $500 for postdoctoral fellows to travel to the meeting, participate in it and to present a paper.

Airport: When booking flights, set Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (airport code: AUS) as your destination. All major airlines have flights that (eventually) reach Austin.

Transportation to/from Airport: Taxis from the airport to the conference hotel that will cost approximately $30. Austin’s public transportation system includes an express bus route (100 line) to/from the airport for $1.50. Here’s the bus trip planner: http://www.capmetro.org/planner/. Google maps also handles the bus routes well: https://goo.gl/maps/yj5dW. If you do take the bus, you’ll want to get off at the 18th and Trinity stop. From there, it is about a 5 block walk to the AT&T Conference Center Hotel.

The AT&T Conference Center is located on UT-Austin’s campus, is a block away from the meeting venue, and a 10 minute walk to downtown Austin.

Parking is available to MDRS attendees in the Brazos Parking Garage located one block east of the Blanton Art Museum (map of the conference locations). NOTE: Make sure to pay at the Blanton Art Museum for a reduced cost of $4/day.
