Congratulations to Ayomide Akinsooto on her graduation from UT Austin!

Ayomide completed a degree in Biology and received a College of Natural Sciences Graduates of Distinction award.  Congratulations, Ayomide!  Ayomide will continue in her role as a valuable member of our research team as she prepares her medical school applications.

Sean’s and John’s new paper showing that grid cell co-activity patterns remain stable during overnight sleep and reflect grid field overlap from waking behaviors is now out in Nature Neuroscience! A complementary study from the Mosers’ group was published in the same issue.

Congratulations to Dr. Brian Gereke!

On May 8, 2018, Brian Gereke successfully defended his PhD dissertation entitled, “Experience-dependent trends in hippocampal rhythms”.  Brian is now at UC Berkeley, where he accepted a Postdoctoral Researcher position in Kristofer Bouchard’s lab.  Congratulations, Brian!

Congratulations to Dr. Sean Trettel!

On December 4, 2017, Sean Trettel successfully defended his PhD dissertation entitled, “Grid cell co-activity patterns remain stable across different behavioral states and experiences”.  Sean has now moved on to a Postdoctoral Researcher position in Rebecca Burwell’s lab at Brown University.  Congratulations, Sean!

Brian’s new paper reporting experience-dependent changes in theta and gamma rhythms in freely behaving mice is published in Journal of Neurophysiology.
